Our program is committed to provide excellent training for those pursuing a career in nephrology.
Fellows are selected from a competitive pool of applicants, and appointed to the program each year through the NRMP Match. Our training program varies depending on your particular career interests. We believe that all our fellows (both clinical and research fellows) becoming excellent clinicians first, and to do that, you have to see patients. To that end, our first year is a predominantly clinical year, where fellows will have exposure to patients with a large variety of pathology in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Your work with patients will be balanced with a comprehensive didactic program that works through a carefully designed curriculum. Conference attendance is mandatory, and provides protected learning time that is essential. Conferences include a variety of formats to enhance your nephrology education.
For those seeking advanced degrees beyond an MD, opportunities for earning a Masters or PhD exists across several disciplines if it fits a fellows career interests.
